WHAT: Sen. Patrick Colbeck, vice chair of the Senate Reforms, Restructuring and Reinventing Committee, announced that the committee will hold a hearing in Gibraltar to review plans to improve the accountability and performance of state government. The hearing will provide an opportunity for residents to listen to plans for government service improvement and testify before the committee with regard to their interactions with state government.

“Good government is responsive government,” said Colbeck, R-Canton. “To promote responsive government, we are expanding opportunities for residents to communicate directly with legislators by bringing the Senate Reforms, Restructuring and Reinventing Committee to Gibraltar. This hearing will give residents an opportunity to directly participate in government reform.
“Good government doesn’t reside in Lansing, it resides in its interactions with our communities, neighborhoods and citizens. I encourage everyone to come out to the hearing and join in the process of improving our state government’s accountability and performance.”
