State Sen. Patrick Colbeck will debate Sen. Curtis Hertel in the Senate Appropriations Room on Tuesday as part of the challenge issued by Colbeck to debate the need to increase taxes in order to fix Michigan’s roads. Colbeck asserts that tax increases are not necessary. Hertel asserts that tax increases are necessary. The debate is open to the public.

Doors will open at 1:30 p.m., and the debate is scheduled to take place between 1:45 and 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, in Lansing. The debate will be moderated by Kyle Melinn of MIRS News Service. A podcast of the event will be made available by MIRS after the event
