Sen. Colbeck voices opposition to Iran Deal

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Patrick Colbeck, R-Canton, voiced opposition to Barack Obama’s Iran Deal on the Senate floor on Wednesday.

“The Iran Deal has significant implications to the safety of our citizens,” Colbeck said. “It is not in the best interests of our citizens and those of our allies like Israel to provide a path for a nuclear Iran. Iran is a leading sponsor of state terrorism throughout the world. We need to ensure that they do not have the financial or technical resources to obtain or distribute nuclear weapons.

“I’m pleased to see that this was a bipartisan issue and appreciated the contributions by Democratic state Representative Andy Schorr in this regard. The resolution will be forwarded to our representatives in the U.S. Congress so they will understand the concerns Michigan’s residents have with this deal.”
